Music for the quarantined soul
A podcast hosted by Clifton Flett and Cam Bennet, 2 music aficionados from Dauphin, Manitoba. This was born out of the Coronavirus crisis of 2020. We invite someone to give us their 5 albums that are their go to’s; their “stranded on desert island” albums; the ones that they know all the songs, all the lyrics. And we talk about what’s so special about them. And we invite others to listen to them. We suggest a deep cut from the album. We find their most embarrassing album buy. You listen on your own time.

Season 4 is just around the corner! In our first episode, Steve Cote will join us again and we debate the top 40 cassettes of 1982. Cam heard on Sirius XM radio that they were asking their listeners to pick the top 40 that turned 40 in 2022. Their poll ranked Van Halen's Diver Down as the #1 album of 1982. The guys found a list of 100 albums from 1982 and made their own picks. Here is your chance to vote on yours! Pick 10 from the list of 100. Results and the newest episode will be posted soon!

The Season 3 wrap-up took an unusually long tome to record and edit, but here it is finally in all it's glory. We are now officially on hiatus until late fall / early winter. Enjoy your music and this season wrap-up,
The guys have Chris Jewett back for a guest host as they finally get around to wrapping up Season 3. Discuss the highlights for them for this season. Chris forces them to offer up the albums the guys had a hard time listening to as well. They discuss some of their guests and their choices and somehow end up discussing Blackberry Smoke’s Stoned and Willie Nelson’s Red Headed Stranger. As always, when Chris joins us, wackiness ensues!
During the recording of our latest episode, our guest Jennifer Engbrecht, told us how as a music teacher she taught outside, in the winter, in Manitoba for 120 days! We felt that it was important for people to hear her story so we offer this as an out-take from the regular, album-oriented podcast.
The guys chat with Jennifer, a teacher from Manitoba. She has a very local Quarantine 5 with the exception of one. (Can you spot it?) Her albums are:
Jennifer also discussed her time as a music teacher during the pandemic and how she taught outside. We're publishing that as an out-take, so look for it! Play out music is by Beck - Take it Back
This episode the guys head to the West Coast and speak with Zac, another new friend from Twitter. Zac takes us on a ride. Albums are:

This episode the guys chat with Melissa , a life long Winnipegger, music fan and often concert reviewer. Her albums are:
No play out music because we ran outta time!
This episode the guys chat with Sue from Edmonton. She's passionate about her music and it definitely comes through in the episode. She does the unconventional and slips in 2 embarrassing albums but hey, we always say "No rules!" Sue's album picks are
Playout music is Rage Against The Machine - Bulls on Parade
This episode Cam & Clifton discuss 5 albums with Amy Scott, another social media find of a guest. This episode has more of an indie feel to it, so please check out these deserving artists. Also discussed: a) how things might work at Shazam and how we might all get a job there b) David Bowie's pants. Amy's albums are:
Lia Ices - Grown Unknown Cold Specks- Fool’s Paradise Corrina Repp - The Pattern of Electricity Of Monsters and Men - My Head Is an Animal Neil Young - Harvest Playout music is Free by Florence and the Machine
